1. Information we collect
When you analyze a link or download a video, the app (or website) sends our server a technical record containing:
- The link you submitted, its platform (e.g. Instagram, TikTok), the video title and the quality you chose.
- The outcome: whether it succeeded or failed, and the type of error if any.
- Device and app details: device model as reported by the operating system, OS version and app version. On the website: your browser's user agent.
- Your IP address and the approximate country derived from it. We do not collect your precise (GPS) location.
If you create an account on the website, we store your name, email address and a hashed password.
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, the contents of your photos, or the passwords of your other accounts.
2. How links are processed
The app first tries to fetch the video directly from the platform on your device. If that fails, only the link is sent to our server to try. If our server also fails, the link may be passed to an external processing provider (see "Third parties").
We do not keep copies of videos on our servers. The file you download is saved to your device's gallery only.
3. Optional Instagram & Facebook sign-in
Some content (such as Stories or age-restricted posts) is only shown by the platform to a signed-in account, so the app offers an optional sign-in:
- You sign in on the platform's official login page inside the app. The app never sees or stores your password.
- After you sign in, the session cookies are stored encrypted on your device only, using the system's secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain).
- The session is used only to send requests directly from your device to Instagram or Facebook for content you ask for. It is never sent to our servers.
- You can log out at any time from Menu › Connected accounts; the session is deleted from your device immediately.
Your use of your account remains subject to that platform's own terms and privacy policy.
4. How we use information
- To provide the service: analyzing links, fetching and saving videos.
- To see which platforms and errors are failing, and fix them quickly.
- To produce aggregate, non-personal statistics (e.g. downloads per platform or country).
- To protect the service from abuse and excessive requests.
We never sell your data or use it to build an advertising profile of you.
5. Third parties
We share as little as possible, and only with:
- The platforms themselves (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit and others): the app or our server contacts them to fetch content, just as a browser would when opening the link.
- Link-processing providers via RapidAPI: they receive only the link, and only when our own methods fail.
- ip-api.com: receives your IP address solely to determine the country.
- Google Play and the App Store: if in-app purchases are offered, they are handled there; we never receive your card details.
- Google AdMob: if ads are shown in the app, Google may collect the advertising ID and device data under its policy. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Our hosting provider, which runs our servers.
- We may also disclose data when required by law.
6. App permissions
- Photos & videos / storage: to save your downloads to the gallery.
- Notifications: to show download progress and completion.
- Internet: to fetch content.
When you share a link to the app from another app, the app receives only that link.
8. Data retention
- Technical logs: kept for as long as they are needed to run and improve the service; you can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Sign-in sessions and downloaded files: on your device only, until you log out, delete them, or uninstall the app.
- Website accounts: until you ask us to delete them.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restrict access to our servers and admin panel, store passwords hashed, and keep sign-in sessions in the device's secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take protecting your data seriously.
10. Your rights and choices
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or deleted.
- Log out of connected accounts at any time from within the app.
- Turn off permissions in your device settings, or uninstall the app.
Because the app doesn't require an account, including the approximate date you used it and the link helps us find your records. Email us at ethar.shrouf@gmail.com.
11. Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you in the app if a change is significant.
